The project is led by Federation University and its goal is to create an online knowledge system for soils that is self-sustaining and useful for research and education, and ultimately, farmer decision making.

Farmers who agree to have their data entered into the VAS platform will be able to access it anytime they wish, they can add data over time into the secure system in perpetuity. Farmers control who can access that data, they can choose to allow it to be used by researchers or have it accessible only to themselves, it’s their choice.
