Long Billed Corella behind Little Corellas

In 2022 a report was delivered to Wheatbelt NRM and Avon Regional Organisation of Councils from Edith Cowan University. The report recommended a coordinated approach be taken towards the management of corellas within the Wheatbelt.

As an initial step, Wheatbelt NRM has released a community survey for completion over the next twelve months. It can be completed more than once by the same individual. The purpose of the survey is two pronged. One is to learn the actual distribution of the corellas over the wheatbelt region, and secondly, to get an estimate of the economic impact corellas are having in the region. You can access this survey by going to https://arcg.is/1emGjP or using the QR code provided.

Whilst this is going on, Project Officer Jacquie Lucas will be working with CBH and engaged shires to determine the best management strategies to employ. If you are a shire who would like to become involved, for a fee, with the project, please contact Jacquie on 9670 3118 or jlucas@wheatbeltnrm.org.au for further information.
