Seed Collection Levels Up

Aboriginal NRM

The arrival of a new seed cleaner has seen our Noongar Boodjar Rangers’ seed collection efforts enter the next level. The team has been working with the team at Kimseed to hone their skills and add another aspect to our seed collection enterprise.

Up until now, our seed collection activities have been focused around the Rangers working on country, collecting seed and hand sifting the product in Northam. The addition of the seed cleaner will not only streamline this process but will enable us to deliver a high quality finished product.

Jermaine Davis says, “The addition of seed cleaning to our collection arm is a very exciting development for us. It means that we can now work with partners to provide the full seed supply chain from collection right through to delivery.”

“It’s also another skill that our Rangers can add to their set. The benefits of this new equipment are being felt across all levels.”

The Noongar Boodjar Ranger team recently spent a day with Kimseed to receive one-on-one training and tap into their decades-long expertise. Thanks so much to the Kimseed team for having us.

The Noongar Boodjar Rangers are a skilled workforce specialising in Wheatbelt natural resource management and are available for a wide range of projects. Contact us to find out more and to see if they can assist in your next project.
