Revegetation Success: Rangers Finish Seed Collection Training
Congratulations to The Noongar Boodja Rangers and Yued Aboriginal Corporation Rangers on recently completing seed collection training, facilitated by Greening Australia.
The large-scale project wrapped up in February 2026, with a total of 15kg of seed collected across 63 different plant species. The seeds were collected across WA’s Wheatbelt, a hotspot for rare species of plants that are not found elsewhere.
A key part of the training focused on sorting and identifying the different species of plants, with the goal of creating a book that showcases the diverse plant species found across the Wheatbelt. For every type of seed collected, a corresponding plant stem is recorded, including name, location, and date.
The hard work completed by the Rangers, supports large scale restoration efforts that rely on viable native seed and helps strengthen cultural connections to the land.
Well done team!
