Consultant Opportunity – Economic Modelling of benefits of ground cover plans (Economic Modeller)

Posted in:
Sustainable Agriculture

Wheatbelt NRM is seeking submissions from a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to undertake an economic analysis to demonstrate the possible production benefits of implementing a systems approach to summer ground cover.

Working with 8 Wheatbelt farmers and a farm planning consultant the selected consultant will model the benefits (or not) of each enterprise specific farm plan and the various ground cover options identified.

We are seeking to demonstrate to farmers that increasing ground cover over the summer period can have a quantifiable impact on the bottom business line.

The opportunity would require an economist or farm business modeller with a thorough understanding of mixed farming in the West Australian Wheatbelt, and extensive knowledge of agricultural economics and/or farm business modelling.

It is expected that the final products will be 8 enterprise specific economic analysis reports and an overarching summary document.

Over the next four years the project will implement the farm plans and use them as a basis of community learning activities.

It is expected that the successful consultant will participate in field days and workshops.

Submissions must be received by 4.00 pm Friday 2 August.
