$10,000 Vouchers For Carbon Farmers

Sustainable Agriculture

Last week, the State Government announced their new Carbon For Farmers Voucher Program. It’s a complementary funding opportunity to the Carbon Farming and Land Restoration Program (CF-LRP) that was launched in 2021 and it is designed to help farmers access expert advice to develop their own carbon projects.

About Carbon For Farmers

Establishing carbon plantings that can take advantage of the State Government’s $15 million CF-LRP can be daunting. The Carbon For Farmers program has been launched to help landholders access specialist advice and guidance when it comes to planning their own activities.

The vouchers can be used to engage the services of relevant professionals who can help in completing land management strategies and registration of their projects with the Clean Energy Regulator. It has been put in place to ensure that farmers in the South-West land division can reap the benefits of carbon sequestration.

Who Can Apply?

Anyone who has a landholding in the South-West land division is eligible to apply for the Carbon For Farmers Voucher Program. Individuals or groups can apply but the one main criteria is that it must relate to projects that increase carbon stored in the soil and/or vegetation (carbon sequestration).

How To Get On Board

Expressions of interest are now open and close on 1 April 2022. More information, application details and further eligibility requirements can be found on the Carbon For Farmers website.

This is an excellent opportunity for any Wheatbelt farmers who are considering carbon projects to access specialist advice and knowledge.
