Dr Ken Flower from UWA is working with WANTFA on a long term GRDC funded trial site in Cunderdin. The trial is a detailed look at the effects of long term no till farming. The trial studies different levels of stubble load, windrow burns, different crop rotations, controlled traffic, cover crops and long term effects on soil organic carbon. The trial has big plots 40m long but is seeded with 2cm accuracy. The yield benefits of the different practices have some interesting results so far.
