Supporting community action – Riparian Restoration in the Avon

Posted in:
Sustainable Agriculture

Does your not for profit community group have an interest in the health of our waterways and operate within the Upper Avon, Middle Avon, Dale or Mortlock River catchments?

Healthy Soils – Healthy Rivers is a partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions.

It seeks to reduce the impact of nutrients in the Avon and Swan catchments.

As part of this project Wheatbelt NRM is pleased to launch a small grants program for community groups tackling the health of our waterways.

Support of up to $5000 is available for riparian repair.

A range of activities aimed at improving water quality in our catchment are eligible including revegetation, fencing, weed control and more.

Applications close 5.00pm Monday 18 March 2019.

Guidelines and applications forms can be found here.

Wheatbelt NRM’s Regional Agriculture Landcare Facilitator, Jacquie Lucas is coordinating this opportunity, please email her at jlucas@wheatbeltnrm.org.au
