The Wheatbelt Woodlands Restoration Project

This project, undertaken in collaboration with Northern Agricultural Catchments Council (NACC), seeks to rectify the significant damage to the Eucalypt Woodlands of the Western Australian Wheatbelt that occurred as part of the extreme drought of 2023–2024. These woodlands are a nationally recognised Threatened Ecological Community (TEC) vital for supporting biodiversity, mitigating land degradation, and regulating local climate. Working with local landowners and our Aboriginal NRM team, we are assessing the extent of the impact in the Wheatbelt, restoring priority areas, and enhancing the long-term resilience of these woodlands through targeted activities such as seed collection and revegetation.
