Rangers prepare for ANZAC day
The Wheatbelt NRM Noongar Boodjar Ranger team have been busy over the past month continuing their important work within the community.
As in previous years considerable time has been spent tending ANZAC graves at the Northam cemetery in the lead up to ANZAC Day 2025.
Noongar Boodjar Ranger manager Jermaine Davis said the team had worked hard to ensure special care was taken on graves of those who had served our country in the armed forces.
“The team put in extra time to make the cemetery look its best for those who would visit it this year during ANZAC Day,” Mr Davies said.
Maintenance includes ensuring the cemetery is at its best with all weeds and leaves removed around graves as well as mulching the area and sweeping the graves off.
As the Rangers have worked at the cemetery over the years, they have often noted the graves with the ‘Rising Sun’ emblem of the Australian Army.
The task is one the Ranger team is proud to be a part of, ensuring those who had served our country are given this token of remembrance.
We honour those who gave so much to those of us who do grow old in this fantastic country we call home. May they rest in peace.
