In the next month, Wheatbelt NRM will be celebrating the end of the very successful Living Lakes project.
When an initial investigation was completed in 2012, by the State Government, to identify significant lakes in WA where revitalisation could support regional development, no one would have known what a difference it would make in 2020 to Lake Yealering and Lake Ewlyamartup and the communities that use them.
Wheatbelt NRM is responsible for the construction phase of this project which commenced in December 2017.
We are excited to launch this engineering project that is designed to keep more water in the lake with improved water quality. It means the lakes can be enjoyed later into summer. An added bonus is the foreshore works that will provide universal access, community facilities and improved natural environment.
Join us to celebrate. Contact Bonny Dunlop bdunlop@wheatbeltnrm.org.au for details.
