Soil sampling supports informed decision-making

Posted in:
Sustainable Agriculture

As part of our ongoing work of providing soil samples to further develop healthy soils, our team headed to Newdegate to conduct some soil sampling for the Soil CRC microbial project.

Visiting paired sites in Newdegate with different management practices the samples were sent off for microbiological analysis.

Similar sampling is being completed in sites across South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, with the results of the testing to be the first major step towards gaining improved knowledge and use of soil microbiological indicators.  The aim is to develop soil biology metrics to help drive agronomic decision-making for the future.

Ongoing testing and sampling will be done by our team and analysis will be made pre-harvest.
