Don’t miss your opportunity - contribute to Australia’s first national soil strategy

The Australian Government is developing our first National Soils Strategy. This presents an opportunity to develop and agree on, at a national level, the direction and desired outcome for improved management and protection of our soils resources.

The previous National Soil Health Advocate, Major General Michael Jeffery highlighted that effective soil management will significantly improve agricultural production and profitability whilst protecting natural resources.

Soil health is at the forefront of our work to support a productive agricultural industry and we think everyone should contribute to this Strategy.

Wheatbelt NRM participated in a range of workshops as part of the early consultation phase. We found them very worthwhile.

As part of an open consultation phase the Australian Government is asking us all to complete a short survey (13 questions). The survey is open until; 25 September.

Additional context can be found in the initial discussion paper that set out the initial ideas, issues and priorities.

If healthy soils are important to you, please complete the survey. We know things are different in WA and we need our voice heard.
