Perth NRM Sustainability Conference, 2019
11
Thursday 11th April, 2019 - 09:30 am
Event Category:
Body:

Perth NRM has postponed the community conference until 2019. The full day conference at The Rise in Maylands will be for members of the community and local organisations looking at ways we can all be more sustainable, at home and on a larger scale.

Speakers will be using the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals to make the connection between work that is being done and the actions that we can do as a community. Areas covered will include plastic waste, food waste, community gardens and water for creating natural habitats.

Presenters will be joining us from Curtin University, Plastic Free July, Transition Town, Perth NRM and Community Gardens (UWA).

The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice. The Goals interconnect and in order to leave no one behind, it is important that we achieve each Goal and target by 2030.
