NRM Planning for Climate Change for the Avon River Basin

According to the Carbon Farming Initiative Bill 2014, land-based projects will need to be consistant with regional NRM plans. As part of that process Ecoscape (Australia) Pty Ltd have been contracted to undertake spatial analyses for the Avon Region to address the following key questions:

• Where in the landscape do we want carbon plantings to enhance habitat corridors and protect high biodiversity areas?
• What landscapes need to be protected from carbon plantings?
• Where would we encourage low biodiversity carbon plantings (e.g. monocultures, tree-crops)?

We would like to invite you to a workshop (lunch included) to participate in the analysis of relevant spatial data through MCAS-S modelling that will help answer these questions.
