Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management Incorporated (Wheatbelt NRM) is an independent community-based organisation leading natural resource management (NRM) endeavours within the Avon River Basin. We currently have a vacancy on the Wheatbelt NRM Noongar Elders Advisory Group and are seeking to appoint a committed community member to the role. The Elders Advisory Group meets 4 times per year and discusses natural resource management issues, Aboriginal culture and values and offers advice to Wheatbelt NRM on current and future initiatives.

The group is made up of 10 members from across the Avon River Basin.

Sitting fees and travel costs are paid for meetings.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Are a recognised Elder in the community in this region
• Provide geographical and family spread of representation,
• Have an interest in natural resource management; and
• Demonstrate considerable cultural knowledge
