Plantings rehabilitate construction zone at lakes

Last week the Wheatbelt NRM team including the Noongar Budja Rangers were out at Lake Yealering and Lake Ewlyamartup to revegetate disturbed areas.

With construction completed, it was an opportunity to plant out cleared areas that had been impacted by the engineering works.

While the weather was fairly uninviting the 20mm of rain hitting the ground since the plants went in will be welcomed.

Chair of the Lake Ewlyamartup working group, Mick Quartermaine was able to join in for the day. He is really happy with how the work has progressed and is excited to see the end result when the final paths and amenities go in.

Hopefully, post-COVID a community event will help celebrate the successful completion of this multi-million dollar project made possible through funding from DPIRD and Royalties for Regions.
