Virus spreading is a great way to tackle rabbits

Posted in:
Healthy Environments

Following this release, we are working with the landholder to carry out other feral animal control activities as well.

As part of the “Where the Wild Things are” project conserving the Eucalypt Woodlands of the Wheatbelt we are tackling rabbits as they have such a detrimental impact on regeneration which is an important part of a functioning woodland.

Wheatbelt NRM is seeking interested landholders who would like to be part of the next release program in Spring this year. We are looking for sites which have current rabbit activity.

Virus release is easy and landholder commitment consists of before and after monitoring of rabbit numbers over three nights using a drive-by method.

Please contact Anika Dent on adent@wheatbeltnrm.org.au of 9670 3104 if you want your rabbits gone.
