The Noongar Budjar Rangers were happy to spend time last week with the Honourable Kim Beazley AC - Governor of WA at an event with the Shire of Northam at the BKB Centre.

The Honourable Mr Beazley was visiting Northam as part of his attempts to draw attention to the amazing regional parts of WA as they recover from the COVID 19 crisis and was very keen to learn more about the Noongar culture of the area.

The Rangers chatted about their work and how this has been built over time as well as sharing some of the cultural stories of the Wheatbelt and their community.

Alex Griffiths also went along and the Governor was amazed to hear about the unique species to be found in our region and the work Wheatbelt NRM are doing to protect them.

Mr Beazley had not seen much of the Wheatbelt and we look forward to him taking up the invitation to join the Ranger team on a scenic tour of this unique part of WA.
