The Wheatbelt NRM sub-regional forums were held in Wongan Hills (April 12), Merredin (April 13) and Hyden (April 14).
These forums were a fantastic opportunity to "get the ball rolling" with the Sub-catchment Reference Groups. These groups were created in our new constitution to give individuals, opportunities for initiating discussion, raising issues and giving Wheatbelt NRM a clearer picture of how it can represent the Natural Resource Management needs of the community and lifestyle that we all share and value.
Thank you to all who attended. We hope you found the forums informative and engaging, and look forward to working with you to manage our natural resources in a healthy environment.

Workshop Outcomes
Each event included a workshop session where attendees were asked to share their views, comments, questions and concerns.
The notes of the workshops have now been compiled. Every effort has been made to represent the views of community accurately. However, if you feel that some points have been missed, represented inaccurately or you have fresh ideas or comments please do not hesitate to contact us.
A response to some of the comments and questions has been included in olive green and italicized to provide additional clarity where possible. Some of the issues are complex, however if you would like to seek out additional information, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
These comments have been reviewed and will be considered in future planning wherever possible.
This document has recently been revised to make correction to the Wongan Hills National Reserve System project, which is funded and delivered through the Department of Environment and Conservation through Caring for Our Country funding, and not funded and delivered through Wheatbelt NRM as the previous version stated. We apologise for this error and any confusion that may have resulted.
Community Feedback
149 members of the Wheatbelt community attended forums in Wongan Hills, Merredin and Hyden. 68 of those people chose to complete evaluation forms to help us learn a little more about our community so that we can improve our services in the future. Thank you to all those people who took the time to complete our survey - we really value your feedback, opinions and comments. We've now crunched the numbers and have prepared a brief summary of the major fi ndings. It is important to note that the fi ndings in this summary refl ect 45% of forum attendees (those people who completed the evaluation form). Wheatbelt NRM are in the process of reviewing all of the information gathered from the events, with a view to improving our future events.
