Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management Inc. has secured funding from the Australian Government for projects that aim to achieve an environment in the Avon River Basin that is healthier, better protected, well managed, resilient and provides essential ecosystem services in a changing climate.

Recognising Women Farmers
A group of women from the Wheatbelt will be funded to visit Birchip to meet with the Birchip Cropping Group's women's agronomy group, and the authors of "Critical Breaking Point" to talking about how they have managed with 10 years of drought.

Incentive funding to support feral animal pest control through the Red Card for the Red Fox and Rabbits program in the Avon River Basin (ARB).

Community Action Grants
Community Action Grants are the small grants component of the Australian Government's Caring for our Country initiative that aims to help community groups take action to conserve and protect their natural environment. The grants are targeted towards established community-based organisations which have sustainable farming and/or protecting and enhancing the natural environment as their principal objective.
Pilot of drought reform measures
The pilot will test a package of new measures developed in response to the national review of drought policy. The measures are designed to move from a crisis management approach to risk management.
Bushcare Grants
The Wheatbelt NRM Bush care Grants will support community organisations and individuals to manage and undertake on ground works which will manage remnant bush and protect the important biodiversity values of the region.
