Sick of driving the header through that thin patch down near the salt?
You keep cropping it, but are you getting your input costs back?
Maybe you'd be better off trying something else?
Wheatbelt farmers in the Avon River Basin have an opportunity to participate in the Wheatbelt NRM project evaluating ‘SaltCap', a decision support tool that enables landholders to select and establish appropriate saline management systems.
SaltCap uses your specific site information to generate planting options; eg. Saltbush block planting, pasture and saltbush alleys.
By participating in the project successful farmers will be provided with:
- Training in the use of a saltland decision support tool and saltland pasture management.
- Support in the implementation of recommendations
- 12c saltbush seedlings (max 20ha/20,000 seedlings - to be planted in 2012)
- Pasture seed for Saltbush inter-row areas.
Farmers located within the following Shires will be eligible:
- Dalwallinu
